Jim Thompson’s House in Bangkok

I like a mystery and in 1967, American Thai silk entrepreneur and architect Jim Thompson, resident of this fine house in Bangkok, went for a walk in a Malaysian jungle and was never seen again. And they looked pretty thoroughly too. I am in Bangkok recharging my batteries for a couple of weeks and toured the house yesterday. Nice way to live in the tropics, in an eclectic assembly of several 200 year old houses arranged into a comfortable connected series of pavilions. Got me thinking about my writer’s retreat plans.

Baby Rocket is one year old today!

My violent little baby who goes off like a rocket is one year old today, on Remembrance Day. Special treat for Baby Rocket tonight. Here he is with his little buddy, Lucy Goosey. It’s a birthday!
