The Sweet Home Setup with KAWS toy

Well, it has come to this. A semi-permanent home office on my dining room table. I have printing, scanning, all manner of video and chat conferencing capability, 200gbps internet and a nice view of some yachts to keep me connected to the outside world. Lots of drawing and writing tools, lots of communication methods, and coffee and tea on tap. We will get through this.

Writing in Cafes just got harder

Day Zero of home isolation begins tomorrow (Monday 23 March 2020) here in Melbourne, well it does for me at least. Our office has gone virtual, and I will be working from my dining room table, where I have set up an enormous monitor for my laptop, just as if I were at work.

Social distancing in Australia means no more than one person for every four square metres in cafes, and that is just until they shut the cafes and restaurants entirely - and that will be a genuine imposition on my lifestyle. I managed to get in a quick writing session (modest in the extreme) yesterday in a cafe in Black Rock (The Colonel’s Son - great service and tasty cakes) to enjoy my freedom while I still had it.

Stay safe people, and keep on writing through the ordeal.

Nothing to do with writing, but still...

Last Friday I fulfilled a dream I have had since I was about 13 years old, and got my greasy mitts on a Jaguar automobile. This has been a desire of mine for more than thirty-five years, and I finally settled on this 2015 Jaguar XE 25t in mint condition, finished in a polar white. Just sayin’, I’m happy about this, is all.
